BLSA CEO to headline Chamber’s Annual Ladies Breakfast

Business Leadership South Africa’s chief executive Busisiwe Mavuso will be headlining the Chamber’s Annual Ladies Breakfast flagship event which will be held in Nelson Mandela Bay, on 01 September 2023.

Chamber CEO Denise van Huyssteen says Mavuso is highly respected within business circles as a leader who subscribes to ethical leadership, an advocate for inclusive socio-economic growth, transformation and people’s development. “Her voice transcends business and politics, and is known for her proactive advocacy and lobbying initiatives to help drive an enabling environment in which business can operate. Very importantly, she is a role model business activist who courageously drives for solutions to the various challenges, which directly impact upon economic growth and job creation.

Mavuso is a Chartered Account and also holds a number of post graduate business qualifications from various institutions of higher learning. She is currently a non-executive director on the boards of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Eskom Holdings, Resultant Finance and BMF Investment.

This year’s Ladies Breakfast event, with 450 confirmed guests, will be held under the theme “A Woman’s Worth” and provides an excellent opportunity for businesswomen to network among themselves and form the connections that are important to the success of their businesses. It also serves as a great platform for companies to expose their brands.

Over the years, the event has become one of the key highlights in the Chamber’s events calendar as it focuses on the empowerment of women in business. Women empowerment forms part of a broader economic development agenda in South Africa and recognises the importance and need for women’s participation in the economy to contribute in job creation, drive innovation and economic growth.
